Project: Porch addition

Our work on this charming Westport home was featured in Better Homes & Gardens magazine. Overcoming obstacles such as the home’s hillside location and variety of roof angles, Splinter created this beautiful porch, giving the homeowners an outdoor entertaining space while adding much-needed dimension to the previously flat front façade.

Responding to the homeowner’s desire for Victorian charm without going too “gingerbready,” we created details such as decorative brackets and hand-chamfered railings. We also put in the curved stone walkway that nicely frames the porch and enhances the landscape.
